(Including Back/Neck Shoulder)
I worked at the Texas Back Institute for one year, where I had the opportunity to work with scores of spinal injury, bulging disc, and whiplash patients every week. I have a vast foundation of experience and history of great success working with individuals in chronic pain in the back, neck, shoulders, and hips. Structural Integration offers something unique for pain sufferers — relief from pain by addressing the root of the problem. Often the pain is a structural compensation which has given out over time, so working on the ‘pain site’ only creates temporary relief. Yes, I work to soothe the place that hurts, but my training teaches me to look at the larger picture and consider other strain patterns in the body which are pulling and causing the pain. The intention is to restore appropriate structural relationships; then it is no longer necessary for the body to give you a pain signal that something is wrong.
Structural Integration can also work to decompress the spine and discs. I have a very positive track record helping clients to avoid spinal surgery by working to decompress the spine and consequential pressure to the spinal discs. Disc problems are not disc problems; the discs are being squeezed by the vertebrae. However, it is not a spinal vertebrae problem either. The problem and solution lies in working to restore the natural length and resilience of the fascia/connective tissue that governs the spacing in-between the vertebrae where the discs are being compromised.
I suffered lower back pain off and on for seven years. I have tried pain medication, steroid injections, spinal decompression, a pneumatic vest, physical therapy, and chiropractic treatments. The last six months the pain had begun to disrupt my sleep. The stress from the pain and lack of sleep was ruining my life. I was 80% better from the very first Structural Integration session with Virginia and have continued to improve. It has been an amazing process and the improvement continues to build. Structural Integration has relieved my pain and therefore freed me to live my life with quality again!

Since 1994, I have been a proud client of Virginia’s. I first went to see Virginia for severe migraines and misalignment in my feet causing terrible shin splints. The relief and improvement in my overall alignment, posture, and ability to breathe more freely was incredible. I am such a believer in Virginia’s abilities and have referred several family members, friends, and my professional clients. All have found similar success. I have returned to her numerous times throughout the years as various challenges have arisen. Most recently, Virginia supported me during a difficult pregnancy. I have always been proud of her deep moral values, insights, and amazing gift at healing the body, and I am truly grateful for having her in my life .

I cannot say enough about the character and quality that Virginia brings to her work. She has helped me in direct ways by addressing pain in my left hip and stress in my shoulders. She has also helped me in many indirect ways. For example, my feet are more connected to the ground when I walk; I breathe more deeply; and I believe that I am more open to the world around me.

Two car wrecks in two years left me with all too familiar chronic pain, which could flare up with a vengeance after car trips, exercise, or even standing too long. I tried a chiropractor, massage, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory medications; everything helped up to a point, but nothing took me all the way to well. Then, a coworker’s friend told me Structural Integration was by far the best thing he had done after his injury. He referred me to Virginia whom I discovered to be a truly gifted healer. Structural Integration as ministered by Virginia made the difference for me between chronic pain and, most of the time, forgetting that I ever got hurt.
