I have had the honor of working with Olympic Gold medalists and numerous professional and elite athletes. Emmitt Smith, Mike Modano, and a number of other professional record holders have been my clients that have found Structural Integration to be an important part of their health, performance enhancement, and injury prevention programs. I work with gymnasts, dancers, ball players, golfers, hockey players, horse riders, runners and all sorts of athletes from children to middle-aged and older. I enjoy working to assist athletes to excel in their field and I am also so grateful to work in helping injured and retired athletes to regain the quality of life which has been compromised by years of abuse and injury.
My 16-year-old daughter has always had aspirations of playing golf in college, but after years of back issues, I was beginning to wonder if she would even make it through her high school golf career. One evening in late February I shared this with a girlfriend. She began telling me about Virginia Solberg and how Structural Integration freed her of chronic shoulder pain. I called Virginia the next day. After hearing about the years of strength training, physical therapy, Pilates, etc., with little to no decrease in back pain, coupled with a mother’s concern for her daughter’s physical well-being, Virginia was eager to see my daughter and assess her condition. Our first visit revealed a great deal of fascial work to be done but after one session, my daughter was already experiencing pain relief and standing at least 1 inch taller! Flash forward to 15 sessions and the rewards are plentiful. Golf practice and multi-day tournaments are now completed pain-free. Tournament finishes have been nothing lower than third place, including two first-place finishes and the 4A TAPPS individual state championship. Due to the treatment, she has received with Virginia Solberg, she has continued to grow and develop as a golfer and is currently being recruited by multiple collegiate programs. Thank you, Virginia!

Our young daughter started riding horses when she was 5 1/2 years old. For the last 8 years Virginia has been monitoring her growth and identifying various areas where there have been imbalances in her form. Riding puts very specific demands on a rider’s body, especially on a rider’s inner leg, pelvis and spine. Misalignments at times have caused our daughter to experience neck pain and has affected her ability to properly use her leg or have a proper seat position. As our daughter grew (adding additional stress to her body), and as she started learning more technical skills, her trainer noticed these little subtleties and an asymmetrical leg position which all affected her and her horse’s performance.
Virginia graciously took her time to do a thorough assessment of any weakness, tightness or imbalance in our daughter’s structure including watching videos of her riding. She even noticed where it was causing issues in our horses. After each session with Virginia, our trainer noticed our daughter’s improvement in her position, a significant improvement in her leg position, and a deeper connection with her horse. Especially beneficial for our horses has been the improvement in our daughter’s structure and connection as it has improved their overall health and performance. We’ve noticed with our daughter’s bodywork, there is less strain on our horses in their lumbar and sacral issues and in their neck and shoulder area. We are thankful that they have needed fewer equine adjustments; and with our daughter achieving better alignment, she has more accurately responded to our horse’s movements.
Virginia worked with such empathy and gentleness while our daughter was young. As our daughter has matured, Virginia has worked in a way especially attuned to a young person’s physical and emotional needs. We are so very thankful that she has been an integral member of our daughter’s support team for so many years and foresee she will remain in our future for a very long time.
